Grand Bend Summer Camps
We’re bringing surf and skate to our local summer camps in Grand Bend!
In partnership with the Grand Bend Art Centre and Backroads Collective, we received a sunset foundation grant to introduce new sporting experience for kids in the area.
Lake surfing is available year-round for local residents and summer time is the best time to learn!
Sign your child or teen up with us for a 5-day camp for some memorable activities in the summer of 2026.
Jumpstart Surf. Skate. Create.
We received a Jumpstart Grant from the Ministry of Sport and Canadian Tire! We are so excited to finally announce our program. Woohoo!
Our mission is to make lake surfing and skateboarding accessible to gals, women, and queer skaters all throughout Southwestern Ontario - now, we are able to do it at a grander scale in Grand Bend!

Dates
Starting July 8th and 10th, we’ll have a rotation of 4 classes every Wednesday and Friday evening for kids between 4-25 to participate in skateboarding and lake surfing. ALL equipment is provided with exceptions of a helmet. We have a few but recommend you bring your own (bike helmets okay)!

Tier 1 ($205) - 8 Week Program for Your Child and Purchasing 1/2 a Spot to Support another Child in Need

Please note that we require participants to join for 5 consecutive classes to be eligible for Tier 3.
Drop-In Available ($20 per session) - Note which days your child or you are dropping in.
***Our tiered funding helps us support families of all backgrounds and aims to create a supportive network to continue programming in the fall & winter.
**We also welcome any sponsorships from local businesses, families, and non-profits interested in funding long-term programming for our local kids.
Picnic & Sunset Paddle
With the beauty view and opportunity to gather, we are going to get together for a picnic and paddle!
This event is going to be a community potluck so bring your favourite snacks.
If you don’t have a board, we’ll have one for you! They will be first come first serve and the event is FREE.

Tecumseh Skate Jam
4 YEARS!
We’re so excited to be a part of Tecumseh Skate Jam again! Did you know that this is where we first started with Siren Section?
At this event, there will be free youth activities, a sick skate competition AND music all day. Don’t forget that there will be food trucks, a market and more!
Come by at 11:00am for a gals & queer skate - ALL LEVELS WELCOME and we’ll be giving out tons of prizes!
London SurfSkate Workshop
We know there are some surfskaters out there!
Surfskates are where we started. From lake waves to concrete waves, there is so much opportunity to build on skills that can be applied on or off land.
Whether you’re starting out or just ready to shred, we’re here for it!

No equipment is required. We recommend you bring your own helmet; otherwise, you’re welcome to borrow our padding, skateboards and surfskates.

Beachfest
We’re back for a second year of Beachfest hosted by the Grand Bend Optimist Club!!
What are the chances that you get to skate demo and ride on the beach in Grand Bend?
Come out for a skate on June 20th between 11am-4pm as we promote our youth programs in Lambton Shores - we’ll have a slappy rail and manny pad (both donated by Home Hardware) to showcase our local talent.
FYI there is funding support for youth (including our Sirens ages 4-25) throughout the summer. Come out to learn more about it!

Every other Wednesday and some weekends, we’ll be hosting beginner surf workshops to create more opportunities for gals, women, and queer participants! Our mission is to reduce financial and social barriers to entering lake surfing.
At our workshops, you’ll learn about water safety, getting on board, and have the chance to meet other surfers in the local community.
As we work together to build a safe, inclusive space for our community to learn, all workshops are by donation (recommended $95 per participant). Wetsuit rentals are $25.
All you need is the ability to swim and readiness to try something new! Bring a friend and we’ll get you shredding
London Skate Workshop

Punk Rock Flea Market
10 YEARS. That’s how long PRFM has been around.
Celebrate PRFM 10 with us on May 2, 2026 by heading the concerts, market, and skate jam that we’ll be co-hosting!

Earth Day Beach Clean Up & Garbage Art
It’s Mother Earth’s Day <3
Lend a hand and help us clean up our shorelines on Lake Huron. As surfers and human beings sharing this space, we all have a responsibility to take care of our home.
We’ll have all the equipment to clean up our beach, plus sanitized garbage (for art purposes) that we’ll be using to create some art under the pavilion with @grancleansthebeach (local legend and hero).
Come out on April 22 from 6-8pm to join us on this day!

Skateboard Decorating Workshop
It’s coming back, but this time to Sarnia! We loved how the skateboard decorating event went in London and we want to bring it to our Sarnia community.
Co-hosted by Kennady from Seventh Rayn Design, we’ll be putting on this workshop together to create some art and unique skateboards!
No skateboarding experience required - come out to paint skateboards, meet some other skaters and enjoy some prizes! This event is for families, skaters, and all those in between.
Location: 162 Cromwell Street
Event time: 6-9pm
Cost: By donation (recommended $20 for supplies and instruction).

We’re hosting Indoor Surf Training in March too!
We love the excitement coming from our surf crew to prepare for the Spring season and will continue training sessions on March 8 & 22 from 1-2pm at the Sarnia YMCA (1015 Finch Drive). The cost is $25/ person including pool fees or $45/ person for both sessions.
At these sessions, we’ll be focusing on developing upper body strength, improve core balance, and endurance for longer surf periods. These sessions are welcome to those who haven’t surfed before too! It’s much easier to learn the basics before surfing on the lake, so our indoor sessions are a great spot to develop the foundations!

Patch Making Day
Let's make patches! You voted and we listened. We're hosting a patch making and embroidery event for those interested in learning how to upcycle clothing, make new designs, and develop new creative skills.
This social will be held on Saturday, March 7 from 12:30-3:30pm at Good Job Hi Five we’ll send you the address post-sign up). We have supplies but recommend you bring some pieces of clothing that you would like to add patches to!
This event is pay-what-you-can. The recommended donation is $20 for our patch making instructors!
"Show & Tell" Craft and Movie Night
Winter time is for creativity and new hobbies, so we decided to co-host a "Show & Tell" craft and movie night with @brittinthepit from @goodjobhifive!
This social will be held on Friday, February 27th at Good Job Hi Five from 6-9pm. Bring all your favorite projects to share with fellow Sirens.! Join us for some personal and community collaging as well.
This event is FREE. We want to celebrate all your cool projects and successes from 2025. THANK YOU for supporting Siren Section let us treat you to some pizza, art, and new momentos together!
Indoor Surf Training
Strength + Endurance are two key pieces to lake surfing 🏄🏻
At Siren Section, we’re doing something new this year to help our surf crew prepare for the Spring season.
On Feb 8th and 22nd from 1-2pm at the Sarnia YMCA, we’ll be hosting surf training sessions. Cost: $25/ person including pool fees.
This means we’ll be practicing
paddling for upper body strength,
breathwork to increase stamina,
some swimming, and poolside work.
These sessions are welcome to those who haven’t surfed before too! Please note you must be able to swim*
With enough sign ups, we can expand our space to do pop ups! 🤞

Our good friend Adam from Hurricane Surf Company in Nova Scotia is coming out to visit us!
On February 20th from 6-9pm we’re collaborating with @RHP and @hurricanesurfcompany to bring our surf community a technique and strength training workshop.
Adam’s expertise and experience stems from his journey surfing for Team Canada 🇨🇦 his stoke helps beginners develop good habits to regularly improve their surf experience.
Join our crew for this hands on semignar. This event is welcome to beginner and novice surfers.
Cost per participant: $90 w/ tax.

Surf Theory Workshop
We’re bringing back the New Surf Theory Workshop for the New Year, only this time to London!
We’ll be hosting another surf theory workshop for our new lake surfers and those interested in getting into the sport on January 31st from 9-11am at @DoughEV (621 Dundas St, London, ON N5W 2Z1).
This event is by donation (recommended $25 including donuts, powerpoints, and stickers for each participant). Donations help us continue to run our events, share equipment, and allow instructors to come to you! Built on community for the community.
Please arrive a few minutes early to place your coffee order with DoughEV and we’ll have a selection of complimentary donuts to pair with it 🍩

Decked Out: Paint a Board Workshop
We're kicking off this year with a special event in collaboration with O.Hey.Its Kay, Rezonance Printing, Flourish and Grow, and London Skate Co-op!
Join us on January 29th from 5-8pm at Rezonance Printing for an evening of skateboard and helmet deck-orating. This is a family friendly event for our community to share together!
Our crew is stoked to create an inclusive space for all skaters to celebrate the crossover of art and skateboarding culture in the heart of London, Ontario. If you don’t know how to get started, come to this event and we can guide you through the process to skateboard!
What to expect…

If you don’t have a board or helmet to decorate, no problem! We have community decks (shared by new skaters) and helmets for you to contribute to collaborate on and some for purchase at the event.
Snow Day with Siren Section
We hope your holiday season was filled with as much rest as excitement! With even more excitement we bring you or next get together, Snow Day with Siren Section where we hit the slopes. This will be a group event but a friendly reminder we like to surf and skate but know nothing about doing it in the snow. This is not a lesson but an opportunity to grow alongside some likeminded girls and members of the queer community.
Due to the popularity of Boler Mountain on the weekends lift tickets and rentals are available to purchase the Monday prior at 7pm. So set your calendars for 7pm on Monday, Jan 18th! The responsibility of securing rentals and tickets is upon the participants. We will be participating in a 4 hour rental from 1:30-5:30 pm.
We will be meeting at the Boler Mountain Chalet for 1:30 to get ready to shred!
