Any age! We welcome people of all ages to try skateboarding. All our new skaters are required to bring a helmet (we also have rentals) and we have the rest of the equipment to lend out!

The basic requirement to surf is knowing how to swim. We recommend kids ages 7-9 to learn while it’s flat or very mildly wavy, but parents must be present.
For adults learning to surf, we recommend starting anytime! Sooner the better!

A helmet.
Padding - Wrists, elbows, knee pads.
An up to date skateboard without heavy damage.
All participants attending our programs or workshops are welcome to borrow our equipment!

During the summer, you need
basic water safety skills and strong swimming skills.

Yes. However, we only rent surfboards to those who took lessons in the past or have experience surfing.
All renters must sign a waiver and are responsible for any damages.
Our instructors are permitted to deny any rentals deemed unfit, particularly during unsafe conditions.

We highly recommend everyone start by taking a lesson to learn about safety, injury prevention, and to meet new people!
Then, you can decide if you want to take more lessons and/or participate in social gatherings.
Once you begin to commit to the hobby, then we recommend starting to buy your own skateboard padding or winter surf gear.
We encourage skaters to practice on their own! Beginner surfers, we never recommend going out alone.
