Who we are

Siren Section is a women & queer surf and skate club.

Located in Sarnia, London, and Grand Bend, our vision is to create a safe space for participants to make new friends, try something new, and invest in their growth.

It is our mission to remove the barriers to participation for our audience and continuously drive the community in a more inclusive direction.

At Siren Section, we currently host surfing and skateboarding workshops, lessons, board rentals, and social events like craft nights!

Meet our Founders

Siren Section was founded by two gals who met through surfing and wanted to strive for more. Both Amber and Bo developed a life-long friendship through their hobbies which inspired them to open up a whole new space for people like themselves in the surf and skate community.

Originally from BC, Bo always wanted to work in sport and business, but didn’t quite know how to apply her skillset. Forever chasing the next project, she was inspired by her friendship with Amber to create a community where sport felt inclusive instead of competitive.

Her goal is to continue building a space where youth, women, and queer athletes can try new activities with curiosity and peer support.

Down the line, Bo aspires to go back to school and theorize her applied skills to shift how we teach sports.

  • Co-Founder & Marketing/Design Director

Amber was born and raised on Lake Huron. Playing competitive sports from a young age, she felt the gap in recreation as she looked for community and inclusion within these sports.

Amber fell back in love with sports when a bond between Bo, and when revisiting her love of Lake Huron introduced her to lake surfing. Gaining confidence, she knew this opportunity needed to be uplifted and shared to other individuals like her searching for meaningful experiences.

True inclusion is one of Amber’s biggest goals in her professional and personal life.
